Working together with your team
You may write a book alone, and it rarely ripens without others. The platform has fully worked-out team management, letting you bring editors, beta readers and copy editors into your project with exactly the rights that fit their role.

Invitations and access management
Inviting someone goes through a personal invitation link with an adjustable validity period. New collaborators can register through that link or sign in with an existing account, after which they get immediate access to the project. Withdrawing access is done by hand, per person, at any moment. That way you keep full control over who reads along and works along, including when circumstances change.

Layers of rights
The system knows several levels: from a beta reader who can only read and send in suggestions, to an editor who edits articles and works through feedback, to an administrator who runs the project. Each layer has its own view and its own possibilities, so that everyone sees exactly what is relevant to their role.

The internal e-reader
For beta readers and final readers the platform has its own e-reader, a reading experience that sits between an e-reader device and a well-set web page. The reader is tuned for screens of every size, from phone to desktop.

Reading settings to your own taste
Readers choose for themselves how the story reads best for them. Typeface (Nunito, Open Sans or Source Serif), type size, line spacing, and reading theme (light, sepia or dark) are all adjustable. The platform remembers the preferences, so they apply by themselves at the next chapter.

Page and scroll mode
The reader works in two modes: a traditional scroll mode where the text flows as on a web page, and a page mode that echoes the feel of a physical book with left-right page turns. Swipe gestures on mobile work in both modes.

Reading progress and continuing
The platform tracks how far each reader has come, per chapter, down to the scroll position. From the bookshelf screen it is one click to continue where you left off, even after days or weeks. Progress syncs between devices, so you can begin in one place and go on elsewhere.

Notes for beta readers
Beta readers can add notes to specific paragraphs while reading, straight from the reader, without having to leave the flow of reading. Those notes appear as annotations and arrive directly with the author or editor, including the precise passage they refer to.

Reading offline
The reader works as a Progressive Web App: once downloaded, a book is readable without an internet connection. Handy for travel, for places with a poor connection, or for readers who prefer the quiet of reading offline. The download per book is one click from the bookshelf.

Book data and metadata
For every book project you set the full metadata: author name, subtitle, ISBN, series name and position within a series. Those details carry through into the exports and into the reader.

The cover generator
The platform has a built-in cover generator with which you design a book cover without external software. You choose a layout preset (classic, modern, minimal, epic or poetry), a background (a gradient in one of the built-in mood palettes such as Night, Dawn, Forest, Sea, Desert or Polar Night, or your own image from your media library), and you adjust typeface, colour, position and any decorative elements. A live preview shows the result at true scale right away.

ePub export
A finished book project exports as ePub, the standard format for e-readers and digital book platforms. Together with the other export options (DOCX, ODT, PDF, Markdown, JSON) you have the freedom to submit, distribute or deliver your work in the format that fits your next step.

What else is there?
A few things that are perhaps less visible and make the difference daily:
Automatic saving. The editor saves continuously in the background, without you having to do anything for it. An indicator shows when the last save happened.
Locking during simultaneous editing. Is someone else working in this same article right now? The platform signals that and prevents you from overwriting each other's work.
Multilingual interface. The platform is available in Dutch, English and German. Spell checking follows the language of the project.
Secured storage. Everything sits in an encrypted database behind a secured login. Your work is yours, accessible to those you give permission.
